Like wearing deodorant or brushing your teeth, a skincare routine is a healthy habit for good overall hygiene. It's a bonus that a skincare routine will work to combat tween acne, too!
Around the age of 11, hormones are beginning to influence your skin's look and feel, and it would be a good idea to introduce a skincare regimen into your daily routine.
A full-blown product lineup isn't necessary now, but it helps to identify your skin type now. Once you know your skin type, you can move on to the products recommended for your 11-year-old skincare routine and the four steps needed to get your skin looking and feeling its best!
1. Wash Your Face
There is nothing more important in a skincare routine then washing your face. Our faces end up with exposure to many elements throughout the day, including oil, dirt, sweat, and more. When left on your face, your pores will get clogged, and tween acne can develop.
A great time to do this routine is after you've brushed your teeth in the morning and at night. An 11-year-old skincare routine should start with a gentle cleanser. If you already see some tween acne, you might want to try the T-Blast foaming cleanser. Cleansers work to remove all the dirt and oil from your skin.
Before applying the cleanser, wash your hands! Make sure to use warm water; you do not want the water to be too hot because hot water will dry out your skin. Don't forget to wash your neck, but don’t scrub too hard because your skin is gentle.
2. Spot Treat Acne
Ok, so you have a pimple. Yikes! It’s important to take care of it without popping. A tween acne product with salicylic acid can help your skin get rid of the build-up of dead skin cells that can clog your pores, decrease swelling and redness on your face due to breakouts.
Kidskin's Z-Blast Acne Serum is a safe and gentle product to use when you're dealing with an unexpected pimple. Applying the serum in the morning and night after cleansing as part of your 11-year-old skincare routine.
3. Apply Moisturizer
A good moisturizer helps replenish the skin's natural oils while also bringing in any oils the skin may be lacking. Since you now know your skin type, you will be able to choose between our two moisturizers. You can go with a calming moisturizer if you have dry skin or acne. If your skin tends to be more sensitive, a gentle moisturizer would be the right choice. Again, make sure to apply to your face and neck.
4. Sunscreen
Wearing sunscreen is so important! The sun emits harmful rays 365 days a year. These rays can do serious damage that will affect your skin as you get older. Try out our daily sunscreen with SPF30 and zinc oxide to keep the skin safe from UV rays. By adding sunscreen into your skincare routine at 11-years-old, you're getting into a great habit of making sure your skin is safe every day before leaving your house.
We know having a proper skincare routine at a young age can help prevent skincare and self-esteem issues. Becoming a teenager will have many challenges, so we just want to help make sure bad skin isn’t one of them. Starting at the age of 11-years-old, your skincare routine will promote healthy habits and will help your skin look and feel healthy and free of tween acne.
